Due to various requirements from state-to-state and county-to-county, there is no clear answer to this question. Be sure to review what is required from your school, as most schools will not allow children to start school without verification of up-to-date immunization depending upon the age of the child. From toddlers up until 12 years old, the minimum amount of sleep your child should be getting is around 10 hours per night. Encourage healthy sleeping habits by monitoring your child’s behavior and mood, based on the amount of sleep they got the night before, and adjusting accordingly. Books at bedtime, and a consistent routine all help with better sleep.

​Don’t panic! Lice are not dangerous, nor do they carry disease. They are, however, extremely uncomfortable and highly contagious. Recommended treatments ranging from over the counter products, prescription medicines as well as the newer popular lice treatment “salons”. Your child will need to receive the proper treatment before returning to school.
